Here is a concert grade, top of the line Karaj/Pancham (Ravi Shankar) style sitar from Hemen Sen, one of India's most respected craftsmen. Crafted from choice, select tun wood, this sitar features a beautiful rose motif on the tabli (face), full carving on the back with lotus style main pegs, 13 inlaid sympathetic pegs and multi-colored penwork. The instrument features a large natural upper tumba for increased resonance. While renowned for his sarodes, Hemen is a true master of stringed instruments. His sitars have a full, rich sound and tend to be slightly larger than those of Hiren Roy.
