August 2007 - New shipment of tablas from Mridangam (maker for Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri). Included are some very nice "kharaj" tablas - 7 inch tablas that can tune down to low C. Also some "AACM" sitars made for us by BD Music. These are very nice student and entry level sitars. June 2007 - We are starting to add Instrument Maintenance pages, which will include text, photos, and videos. The first one up is How to Tie a Sitar Fret. May 2007 - We finally received our long awaited and much anticipated shipment from Hemen. This included sitars (#1 and #2), sarodes (one and two piece) and dotars. In addition, we have reworked our Harmonium Page, including many harmoniums that were previously only available to walk-in customers. April 2007 - New shipment of beautiful tablas and bayas from Shyamal, one of the best makers in Calcutta. March 2007 - 5 Concert videos of Ali Akbar Khan (available sporadically in the past) have now been re-released on DVD. Feb. 2007 - We now have four full time employees. For years we have gotten by with 2 1/2 or 3 full time workers. Now our prepping and shipping process will be smoother and quicker. We appreciate your patience over the years with our sometimes slow delivery time. Most people understand that this is due to our high standards, and the fact that all instruments received from India require some preparation before they can be shipped. Hopefully that whole process will be streamlined. |
